My first attempt at star trails!
Taken 18 Sept 09 from 21:46 to 22:17.
x104 15 sec shots @ 24mm f3.8. Using Nikon D50.
Stacked using Startrails.
As you can see I'm getting plenty of light polution even at 12sec exposures. Also there's a plane going straight through the middle!!
15°C Partly Cloudy Humidity is 72% Wind is ENE 1 m/s Visibility is 1850 km Pressure is 1017 mbar

I managed to get some great shots in March 07 of the Lunar eclipse. This was the image that started my new passion in astrophotography.
Taken with my Nikon D50, F5.6, 450mm with a 1 second exposure.
I then used Photoshop CS3 to combine each stage into one image.
The moon entered the penumbral shadow at 20:18 UTC, and the umbral shadow at 21:30 UTC. The total phase lasted between 22:44 UTC and 23:58 UTC with a distinctive brick-red shade (L=3 to L=4 on the Danjon scale). The moon left the umbra shadow at 01:11 UTC and left the penumbra shadow at 02:24 UTC 2007-03-04.
The whole event was visible from Europe, Africa, parts of South America, and some areas of North America, Asia, and Western Australia. In North America, part of the event was visible at moonrise. |
